Editorial

1. USIAReview is a digital magazine, serving the country and the world, whose main objective is to ensure that the reader has the right to be informed with truth, rigor and impartiality - n.º 1, artº 17.º da Lei 2/99 de 13 de janeiro – Lei de Imprensa.

2. USIAReview constitutes, without prejudice to its journalistic liveliness, a feature of unity, regardless of its political opinions or religious beliefs, playing a moderating role in the conflicts that manifest in Portuguese society.

3. USIAReview reconciles its vocation as a body of great information with its traditional role as a reference magazine with responsibilities in the formation of leading public opinion. 

4. USIAReview respects the norms of the Constitution of the Republic, according to which the exercise of the rights of freedom of expression and information "cannot be prevented or limited by any type or form of censorship", by censorship the illicit withholding of information, by political or other reasons, and not the necessary and legitimate selection of news and opinion articles.

5. USIAReview ensures, on its pages, the possibility of expression and confrontation of the different currents of opinion existing in the World, but it does not forget that good journalism is done with the work of journalists and newspaper employees. 

6. USIAReview scrupulously checks the news sources used and seeks to identify them accurately, reserving the right to analyze, on a case-by-case basis, the exceptional circumstances that may justify recourse, under the law, to the respective confidentiality, constituting them if the newspaper guarantees its authenticity. 

7. USIAReview rigorously distinguishes between news and comments, based on the principle that "facts are sacred, comments are free", without prejudice to the need to order, relate and explain the events reported. 

8. USIAReview hierarchizes its news according to journalistic criteria, seeking to assess its relative importance, with the possible objectivity, and not according to ideological priorities. 

9. USIAReview values ​​a concept of journalistic seriousness and does not give in to the easy appeal of sensationalism, which proceeds through the blistering of political scandal, crime and sex, despite having perfect knowledge of the possible benefits in terms of the reading market. 

10. USIAReview rejects confidential journalism, which does not hesitate in the face of the debauchery of the privacy of its citizens, just as it refuses to conduct campaigns aimed at harming the reputation of people or institutions. 

11. USIAReview pays particular attention, in its traditional line, to news and cultural dissemination, and seeks to keep its columns open to the collaboration of leading figures in Portuguese culture.

12. USIAReview guarantees its journalism professionals full respect for the ethical principles of the Press, enshrined in the Journalist's Statute and in the profession's Code of Ethics, and recognizes the importance of the action of the Editorial Board for the respective safeguard. 

13. USIAReview follows the guidance defined, under the terms of the Press Law, by its director and these Editorial Statutes, having as limits the principles enshrined in the Constitution. 

14. USIAReview assumes the founding principles of Western and Eastern Civilization, derived mainly from Greco-Roman antiquity and Renascence.

USIAReview it is a fresh and new cultural and luxury digital magazine, dedicated a cultured, refined, genteel, civilized, and cultivated audience. 

USIAReview’s website usiareview.club features mainly art, cinema and cultural news, criticism, opinion, video, podcasts, articles in english language.

Editorial 

1. A USIAReview é uma revista digital, ao serviço do país e do mundo, cujo principal objetivo é assegurar ao leitor o direito a ser informado com verdade, rigor e imparcialidade — n.º 1 do art.º 17.º da Lei n.º 2/99, de 13 de janeiro — Lei de Imprensa.

2. A USIAReview constitui, sem prejuízo da sua vivacidade jornalística, um fator de unidade, independentemente das opiniões políticas ou crenças religiosas, desempenhando um papel moderador nos conflitos que se manifestam na sociedade portuguesa.

3. A USIAReview concilia a sua vocação enquanto órgão de grande informação com o seu papel tradicional de revista de referência, assumindo responsabilidades na formação da opinião pública dirigente.

4. A USIAReview respeita as normas da Constituição da República, segundo as quais o exercício dos direitos de liberdade de expressão e de informação “não pode ser impedido ou limitado por qualquer tipo ou forma de censura”, entendendo-se por censura a retenção ilícita de informação por razões políticas ou outras, e não a necessária e legítima seleção de notícias e artigos de opinião.

5. A USIAReview assegura, nas suas páginas, a possibilidade de expressão e confronto das diferentes correntes de opinião existentes no mundo, sem esquecer que o bom jornalismo se faz com o trabalho de jornalistas e profissionais da comunicação social.

6. A USIAReview verifica escrupulosamente as fontes de informação utilizadas e procura identificá-las com rigor, reservando-se o direito de analisar, caso a caso, as circunstâncias excecionais que possam justificar o recurso, nos termos da lei, ao respetivo dever de confidencialidade, desde que o jornal garanta a sua autenticidade.

7. A USIAReview distingue rigorosamente entre notícia e comentário, com base no princípio de que “os factos são sagrados, os comentários são livres”, sem prejuízo da necessidade de ordenar, relacionar e explicar os acontecimentos noticiados.

8. A USIAReview hierarquiza as notícias segundo critérios jornalísticos, procurando avaliar a sua importância relativa com a máxima objetividade possível, e não segundo prioridades ideológicas.

9. A USIAReview valoriza um conceito de seriedade jornalística e não cede ao fácil apelo do sensacionalismo, que explora o escândalo político, o crime e o sexo, apesar de ter pleno conhecimento dos eventuais benefícios em termos de mercado de leitores.

10. A USIAReview rejeita o jornalismo de confidências, que não hesita perante a devassa da vida privada dos cidadãos, bem como recusa a condução de campanhas destinadas a prejudicar a reputação de pessoas ou instituições.

11. A USIAReview dedica especial atenção, na sua linha tradicional, à informação e divulgação cultural, procurando manter as suas colunas abertas à colaboração de figuras de relevo da cultura portuguesa.

12. A USIAReview garante aos seus profissionais de jornalismo o pleno respeito pelos princípios éticos da Imprensa, consagrados no Estatuto do Jornalista e no Código Deontológico da profissão, reconhecendo a importância da ação do Conselho de Redação para a sua salvaguarda.

13. A USIAReview segue a orientação definida, nos termos da Lei de Imprensa, pelo seu diretor e pelos presentes Estatutos Editoriais, tendo como limites os princípios consagrados na Constituição.

14. A USIAReview assume os princípios fundadores da Civilização Ocidental e Oriental, derivados principalmente da Antiguidade greco-romana e do Renascimento.
